About me
I am a director, having initially trained as an actor, graduating from Guildford School of Acting in 2000. During my time as an actor worked in theatres such as The National Theatre, The Young Vic and Birmingham Rep with directors including Sir Nick Hytner, Howard Davies, Katie Mitchell, Polly Findlay and James Macdonald. As a director my interests range from a good emotional naturalistic tale to real theatrical magic, where language and image become more pliable. I love working with Classical Texts. Music has always been very important to me and I often use it in my creative process as well as in performance. From new writing to reimagining classical texts; to musicals; from story telling to site-specific theatre, as long as the story grips me, I’m in.
I was born in London, but grew up in South Africa and America. I am also a teacher and facilitator, teaching students from primary to undergraduate level.
