What does a theatre Sound Engineer do?

The Sound Engineer's role is to ensure the sound used in a live event, production or performance is as good quality as possible. Sound Engineers set equipment up, rig, do sound checks, run the show then load up and move on to the next venue. They often move on to work as a Sound Designer as the next rung on the FX ladder.
